Mayflower Foundation will have 5 major social initiatives, each with 4 sub-programmes, working together in a single community in one coordinated, synergistic and cooperative body that is aiming for broad based development that in turn reduces poverty, crime and corruption. It is designed to allow organisations to sponsor part or all of an initiative as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda.
The initiatives will run for five years and aim to directly impact up to 100,000 Ebute-Metta citizens and as many as 300,000 more citizens indirectly. Since this will be almost half of the population of Ebute-Metta it will certainly be a worthwhile endeavour. It will certainly be a first in Nigeria and will act as an example of what can be done in other parts of Lagos and other cities in Nigeria.
