The needs of the majority of people throughout Lagos are substantial. It is currently one of the top 10 mega cities in the world and is growing at a pace of 8% per annum, which will put it in the top 3 mega cities within 10 years. Of course, this has grave implications for urban sustainability. However, the government can only spend so much.  Corporations and the citizens living in the city must, therefore, also contribute to changing Lagos - to making each day “A Better Day In Lagos”.

The task is so substantial that success will only be possible if everyone works together.  In particular, Nigerian corporations need to bring some of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) budgets into a common, co-ordinated and holistic approach that will transform Lagos.

The Mayflower Foundation's work focus is on five main topical areas, with each of the areas having four programmes.
