An abundant supply of low wage, unskilled labour is no longer a route to rapid growth and national prosperity. In today’s world, characterized by intense global competition and rapid technological change, the key to prosperity is a well-educated, technically skilled workforce. By and large this requires higher levels of maths and technical education.
Mayflower hopes to raise US$300,000 per annum for a period of 5 years to provide Maths, Science and Technical Education programmes in Ebute-Metta. Per annum it is hoped that up to 1,000 students will be impacted. It would be reasonable to expect that they would be able to earn more when leaving school and thereby assist their families and community.
